Such a Good Boy!

Eli-award2 Ephraim came home today with a new bouncy ball and a lollipop.

"Where did you get those?" I asked.

Before he could answer, Silas piped in, "I should get a treat too, since Ephraim got one!"

"Oh, yeah? Well, what did you do to be special like me?" Ephraim asked him.

"What did you do that's so special?" Silas inquired.

"I don't know. It's in my backpack."

And in his backpack was a certificate and letter from his teachers. This is what it said:

Congratulations on being this week's Leader of Tomorrow! You have been chosen this week because you always work very hard and try your best at everything you do.

We really appreciate your great work habits and the way you put first things first. You get to work quickly, and make sure to complete all of your work quickly and neatly before you play.

You are a very caring student and have quickly made friends in our classroom. You make a great effort to make deposits into your classmates' emotional bank accounts through your kind words and actions! Your kindness and great work ethic make you a wonderful role model in our classroom.

Keep up the great work, Ephraim!

9 Years Ago Today...

Eblair-web 9 years ago today I married my best friend. We had a bunch of people join us for breakfast and we made a promise to live the rest of our lives together. This is what we promised...

I promise to give you the best of myself and to ask of you no more than you can give.

I promise to respect you and to realize that your interests, desires and needs are no less important than my own.

I promise to share with you my time and my attention and to bring joy, strength and imagination to our marriage and our family.

I promise to grow along with you, to be willing to face challenges and changes in order to keep our life together healthy, alive and exciting.

I promise to love you in good times and bad, with all I have to give.

I promise to be faithful to you in mind, spirit and body.

Most importantly, I promise to walk the path that God has paved for us and to stay faithful to His ways in the way we build this life together.

I promise all these things completely and forever.

. . .

Wow! It's been an amazing ride so far, my love! No regrets. Not one!
